It can sometimes be difficult for a parent to present complex assessment information to their children’s schools. We both have experience working with schools as independent evaluators and as members of school based multidisciplinary teams, and can help parents negotiate putting our recommendations into place at school.
It is often important for parents to have a good understanding of the laws that govern our educational system. In addition to our own knowledge of the most recent legal changes, we can point parents to legal resources in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
We have a large and growing network of speech therapists, occupational therapists, tutors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other professionals to whom we can refer your child if necessary.
After the evaluation is complete, family members are often in search of information about a child’s area of difficulty. We consider it very important to provide resources such as books, websites, and support groups for parents to learn more about how to best help their children. We try hard to avoid too much professional jargon and to explain our findings in plain English. |
